Copyright (C) 1999-2001 Andrei A. Porodko Mike A. Potapoff Psion OS/2 utilities. Last time notes. v1.2 Command line switch '-r' is added. For switching off RPC support for old Sibo machines (which haven't got SYS$RPCS.IMG properly installed. Consult your Psion User's manual for details). Rexx hasn't finished yet. We are on holydays ;-) v1.1 The project has a new additional author: Mike A. Potapoff. He's writing Rexx interface. Documetation for PsiFtp is now included into that package. Rexx interface is only preface version and is temporary removed for fixing bugs ...;-) v1.1b Some new commands added : "ps " - get list of the running processes on Psion. for Psion older than Series 5 you should indicate a drive name from where programms were started. "kill " - kill selected process on Psion. "run " - run specified program on Psion with an argument. "owner" - show Psion owner information. "psion" - show Psion's information. "synct" - synchronize Psion and your PC clocks. v1.0 Some little changes. And one important thing - I've made psiftp engine compatible with Psion-plugin for NetDrive. Replaced psiconv with new one. v0.97 Add some new commands. "rem" and "echo" for batch files. Increased command line length up to 254 bytes. Add "retry" dialog for multiply operation commands, such as "mget/mput", "backup/restore". Now, if, for example, a file is busy, you'll be asked for "retry" operation (Certainly if "prompt" is "on" ;-). You can turn off this dialog, simply switch off prompting by command "prompt off". Log-file was added. For log-file creation, simple redirect "stderr" to a filename : psiftp 2>logfilename. PsiPrn didn't changed at all (yet). Directory "Lib" contains a library, some headers and an example for Psion link. Command "resp " was added. When prompting is off, you can automaticaly control the answer 'yes' or 'no' or 'quit'. Useful, for example, when restoring files from backup. Normally, psiftp compare the files's dates, if Psion file older than PC's one, file will be always restored. Othewise you'll be asked for suggestion "Overwrite ?". If you want to restore only newest Psion files, you can create batch file : prompt off resp n restore PC\D D: PsiFtp will skip all the same files (both in Psion and PC). v0.96 Fix some little bugs. PsiConv didn't updated. It will be available as separated program, because it has very big executable module. Hint. You can use "cls" command for screen cleaning. Hint. If you create your own automated procedures, you need to know whats happens ? PsiFtp returns error codes, listed below: 0 "OK" 1 "Bad CRC" 2 "Async read error" 3 "No enough memory" 4 "I/O timeout. Check, is Psion on ?" 5 "Too big packet" 6 "Break connection" 7 "Bad PLP packet" 8 "Queue overflow" 9 "No empty channel" 10 "Message on unknown channel" 11 "Unknown status" 12 "Unknown NCP packet" 13 "Bad NCP packet" 14 "Empty NCP packet" 15 "Can not start PLP link thread" 16 "Can not create semaphore" 17 "Bad queue" 18 "Unexpected end of buffer" 19 "Bad RFSV response" 20 "Psion returns error" 21 "Can not start ping thread" 22 "Can not auto-detect serial port baudrate" 23 "File not found" 24 "Async write error" 25 "Async error, many resends" 26 "Unable to find locale tables" 101 "Error on EA write" 102 "Error on EA restore" v0.95 Add system's events handler for a cleaner program exit. For a first time, I'm including a port of PsiConv utility by Frodo Looijaard . For a while, this unility can convert Psion's Word files to ASCII, HTML and HTML v4. v0.94 Fix some little bugs and one great bug. But it wasn't my. I use "iconv" - series of national languages support routines. But, in fact, IBM doesn't put in OS/2 some DLLs and tables (so, puts them only into Visual C++ package). Even Aurora doesn't have them. Now I know, why can't see any good Russian-translated programs :-( I include needed DLLs and several translation tables. You can place content of attached directory "LOCALE" to the same directory from "LOCPATH" environment variable. Or, you can simply start program through command file. v0.93 Fix some little bugs. New command "!" - run any OS/2 command. New command "@" - "run" command file (can be used any of psiftp commands, exept other "cmd" files). Note. Keep your Psion switched-on when using psiftp. Hint. For Psion Series 5 you can use long names. You have use them in quotation marks : "D:\This is long name". v0.92 New commands "backup ", "restore ". Commands compare files's modification time, checks attribute "archive" and copy all of them with subdirectories. All Psion attributes preserved in OS/2 EA. And (I hope :-) are fully restored. New command "sattr [+|-][rhsa] . Change file attributes for Psion's file. Note : I have got a problem with "set file date" function on Psion Series 3 emulator (Y2K ?). I made workaround, but if you will have got it too, let me know, please. Note : for Psions before Series 5 program shows attributes differently in "dir" command and in "gattr" command. Made a little modification in error response code (improve error detection). Hint. If you didn't it find yet, you can use "up" and "down" arrow keys as in OS/2 command line (command history). Hint. Instead of "exit" you can simply press . Hint. You can call program with "command file" : psiftp @file. v0.91 First public release. Psiftp - How to use ? Run with -? option and read. Set up needed speed. No additional programs on Psion needed. Sorry, performance not the best ;-) yet... Tested with my Psion Series 5 and all neighbouring PCs, also with Psion Series 3 and Sienna emulators. Program supports national languages. Psiprn - How to use ? Run with -? option and read. Set up on your Psion appropriate printer, select printer connected via serial line, then select speed, handshake (I recommend 115200 for Series 5, or 19200 for other, handshake RTS/CTS, DSR/DTR). If you have got Psion with language differ from English, Psion must have right printer drivers with your language support. Sorry for Russian users, translation works only for "GENERAL" printer type. You can't use Psiftp and Psiprn at one time, because Psion can use serial line only (as far as I know) for one job and you'll receive "Busy" message on your one. If you have bug report or suggestions, you are welcome :-)
