Using GalCiv Gold: I have turned shipyards on, but it is not working...all values are set to zero?
Can you say OOOOPS! We made a big oops here. During the install of GalCiv Gold we forgot to have one of the files copied over from the CD to the harddrive. To fix shipyards locate the file items.bin in the GalCiv2 directory on the CD-Rom and copy that file over to your hard drive in the directory to where you installed Galactic Civilizations Gold. After doing this the Shipyards in GC Gold should now work.
Or, you may download the patch for the install program and follow these instructions:


1) Open an OS/2 Window
2) Create a temporary directory on your hard drive:
example: md c:\temp

3) download or copy the file gcg-inst.zip to c:\temp
4) using InfoZip or PKUnzip unzip the the file gcg-inst.zip into c:\temp
5) change to your drive which contains the Galactic Civilizations Gold CD-ROM
6) Run the following Command:

install.exe /s:c:\temp

7) now follow the prompts for the installation program and you will be all set.
