Additional Configuration Information:

1) In CMOS the MP Spec set to 1.4; Primary onboard SCSI OFF, secondary onboard ON.
2) All 3 SCSI 9GB drives were configured as RAID 5 on the Dell PERC. RAID 5 recovery from a single drive failure was tested in both Domain Controler and Additional Server roles.
3) The NEC 12/24 SCSI CDROM was connected to the secondary onboard SCSI controler.
4) The Intel Pro100B PCI Ethernet driver for OS/2 came from Intel diskette version 2.4
5) All LMS*.* and SONY*.* IDE drivers/filters were removed from the install diskettes.
New AIC7870.ADD and OS2CCROM.DMD from FixPak 35 were required on 2nd install diskette for ALL files to copy from OS/2 CD media for 'Additional Server' test. Advise replacing other SCSI drivers on 2nd diskette from FixPak 35: OS2SCSI.DMD, OS2DASD.DMD, CDFS.IFS.
6) Video choice was simple VGA during installation; the Matrox drivers were added later.
7) The Matrox Millinium II/Mystique series video drivers came from www.matrox.com and is driver version 2.13.053; tested high resolution at 1024 by 768 by 16 million colors.
8) Basedev driver PEDGE.ADD version 1.07 was added for the Dell PERC; file dated 5-13-97 (BIOS 1.47, Firmware U.77).
9) OS/2 Warp Server Advanced Version 4.0 SMP was used for both roles as Domain Controler and for Additional Server using Ethernet networking; this was syslevel 3.02.
10) MPTS-SMP WO8504 fixpak was applied on top of OS/2 in both roles due to instability with Ethernet connections. Both client#1 and client#2 were OS/2 Warp 4 with no fixpaks.
As 'Additional Server' FixPak 35 was required to stabalize LAN Distance and SCSI; install order- FixPak35 then MPTS-SMP W08504.
11) The RAID configuration was not picked up by the Certification programs so testing was
done by pulling one drive during operation, then reinserting it. MONITOR.CMD was run
prior to generating the failure. MONITOR.CMD kicks off PEDGEMON.EXE which shows in realtime on the system display how the drive state changed from optimum to failed then showed rebuild percentages, then the drive back fully operational. The system was then rebooted to ensure the OS was rebuilt correctly. Dell provides the PEDGE.ADD PERC driver and these utilities plus DELLCONF.EXE which allows for local RAID management of the Dell PERC under OS/2.
