Additional Configuration Information:

1) Used 3Com's 3C905-TX PCI Ethernet card with driver choice "3Com Fast Etherlink/Etherlink XL Family OS/2"; downloaded drivers acquired at www.3com.com from shipping drivers area.
2) Video choice during installation was simple VGA; the Matrox driver was added later.
3) The Matrox Millineum II driver came from the www.matrox.com web site; resolution
tested was 1024 by 768 by 16 million colors. The driver name is "Matrox MGA Millenium
II/Mystique Driver V2.13"
4) The Matrox video card was in the bottom PCI BUS slot and the 3Com 3C905-TX was in
the middle of the three PCI BUS slots. PCI slot position does not matter since no PCI bridge.
5) MPTS-SMP W08504 fixpak was applied on top of OS/2 on both the Domain Controler
and the Additional Server in the Certification testbed for stable Ethernet connectivity.
6) All three of the other systems in the Certification testbed used Intel Pro100B PCI Ethernet.
7) During LAN DISTANCE testing on the PowerEdge 2200, the mouse froze and the NULMODEM device would not register with the MAC when using COM1. When the cable was attached to COM2, the mouse froze even when COM2 was NOT set up for LAN DISTANCE testing. LAN DISTANCE fixpak IP08605 was applied but that did not resolve any of those three problems. Using mouse.sys from OS/2 Warp 4 resolved the freezing of the mouse but did not resolve the NULMODEM/MAC problem on COM1 even though the fixpak was already applied. Using com.sys, mouse.sys and pointdd.sys as a SET from OS/2 Warp 4 after the fixpak allowed LAN DISTANCE to start and complete, but only after much testing seemed to indicate that the "Call and Port Management" function on S01 must NOT be opened for monitoring during testing; otherwise it would finnish all 25 passes but then fail to copy over the log file to S01. It is uncertain if the fixpak is necessary to resolve NULMODEM registration with the MAC. Due to wording in the ITLLD.CMD test program statin
g it was presumed that the testkit naming conventions were used during OS setup, NETADDRESS = "4000AC010202" was also set up in *ALL VERSIONS* of protocol.* in both the C:\IBMCOM and C:\WAL directories.
