Additional Configuration Information:

1) The 2 Intel Pentium Pro CPU's have 1MB cache each instead of the standard 512KB.
2) In CMOS/EISA the MP Spec was set to 1.4
3) All SCSI 9GB hard drives were configured on the Dell PERC; 3 drives for RAID 5.
4) The Primary embedded SCSI controler was turned off.
5) The 12/24 SCSI CDROM was connected to the Secondary embedded SCSI controler.
6) The Intel Pro100B PCI Ethernet driver for OS/2 came from Intel diskette version 2.4
7) All LMS*.* and SONY*.* IDE drivers/filters were removed from the install diskettes.
8) Video choice was Super VGA for 640 by 480 resolution instead of auto detect.
9) Basedev drivers added were pedge.add version 1.07 for the Dell PERC dated 5-13-97 (BIOS 1.44, Firmware U.75) and AIC7870.ADD dated 8-14-96.
10) OS/2 Warp Server Advanced Version 4.0 SMP was used for both roles as Domain Controler and for Additional Server using Ethernet networking; this was syslevel 3.02.
11) MPTS-SMP WO8504 fixpak was applied on top of OS/2 in both roles due to instability with Ethernet connections.

Special OS/2 utilities in binary form are distributed by Dell to manage the Dell PERC controler: dellconf.exe
for local array maintenance, monitor.cmd to start pedgemon.exe. The pedgemon.exe program shows drive state changes and rebuild progress on the loacl OS/2 display monitor. For RAID testing, since IPSRAID was not applicable and since Netfinity Alerts were not logged for this RAID card this procedure was used: monitor.cmd kicked off the pedgemon.exe, the bottom drive of the 3 SCSI drives in the RAID 5 array was removed while the OS was running, then reinserted. The pedgemon.exe showed drive state changes properly and then reuild progress to completion and the system was then successfully rebooted on the rebuilt array.
