GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATING FLASH BIOS
============================================

Follow these instructions when FLASHing a Micronics motherboard BIOS
to avoid any problems and ensure a smooth process:

1) After downloading the approprate BIOS file from our BBS, extract
it to a bootable MS-DOS 6.X diskette.

2) Reboot the system with that diskette in the A: drive.  To make sure
a clean DOS environment is loaded, strike the [F5] key while
"Starting MS-DOS" is displayed.  This will leave you at the A:>
prompt.

3) The FLASH utility must now be executed.  Its' filename will be
either "FSH" (or FSH20, FSH20G,etc.) or "PHLASH".  Type this filename
at the A:> prompt (but don't include it's extension), followed by a
space and the BIOS ROM image's filename.  This will be the one file
included in the download that has a file length of about 131K.  For 
example, to update the M54Hi to BIOS version 05, you would type:
  PHLASH M54HI.05P [ENTER].

4) Once the FLASH process has begun, select [Y]es, if prompted, to
allow auto-sensing of the part (the FLASH chip itself).

5) After the update process has completed and the system reboots,
verify that the new BIOS version appears on-screen.

>>If the BIOS somehow gets erased or doesn't seem to accept the 
upgrade, it is possible to have your original BIOS chip reprogrammed 
manually by Technical Support.  There is a $29.95 fee for this
service (which includes shipping charges back to the customer).

Technical Support for $50.00.  Overnight shipping costs an additional
