11/21/94 =============================================================== WARP INFORMATION FOR WINDOWS APPLICATIONS =============================================================== This document contains updated Windows Application information for OS/2 WARP. It includes: - Questions - Changes made to Windows files by WARP - Intermittent GP faults in Quicken for Windows V 4.0 ================================================================ 1. Can OS/2 WARP be installed over OS/2 2.1 or 2.11? Currently, OS/2 Warp can only be installed over OS/2 for Windows, DOS, or a blank partition. Information regarding the full-pack release is not yet available. 2. My mouse isn't working in WINOS2, but it does work in in OS/2 and DOS. What's wrong? Check the IRQ settings, there is probably an IRQ confilct between serial ports. If mouse is on COM1, then disable COM3 or assign it to another IRQ. You can change COM3 and COM4 IRQ's and address, for example: X:\OS2\COM.SYS(3.03e8,2) NOTE: If you want to use IRQ5, LPT port #2 must be disabled. If you use IRQ 2 or 9, remember that these are cascaded IRQ's. ================================================================ Changes to several Windows files occur during installation of OS/2 3.0 Warp RESOLUTION: The following Windows files are modified during WARP installation: WIN.INI [Windows] If a printer is not defined in WINDOWS, Warp inserts GENERIC / TEXT ONLY in the DEVICE= statement.
