A new version of Major Major, containing the last couple of feature requests, can be obtained from ftp://ftp.pmoylan.org/Major/major15984.zip The manual has not been updated, and the admin.*.lng files have some incomplete translations, but otherwise it should be OK. This is also the version that implements the "TNI" option. If you start the programs with a parameter 't' or 'T', i.e. admin t major t then these two programs will use MAJOR.TNI instead of MAJOR.INI. The Loadini and Dumpini programs in this distribution are the "GenINI" versions, so the TNI files use the same format as the most recently released version of Weasel. (That leaves FtpServer as the only one of my server programs that has not been migrated to the "GenINI" approach. I hope to finish the job on FtpServer fairly soon.) I've found in my own testing that this "TNI" option carries a hidden trap: it's easy to run admin without the 't' parameter and then run major with it, i.e. you can get out of synchronism and lose track of whether you're using MAJOR.TNI or MAJOR.INI. I suspect, though, that this will be a hazard only while experimenting. Once you've made a firm decision about whether or not to use TNI files, the parameter will be permanently set in whatever mechanism you use to start the programs. (Program object, startup folder, STARTUP.CMD, or whatever your preference happens to be.) After that you'll stop noticing. LIST OF CHANGES Version 1.5984 (10 Feb 2009) (Places in the admin.*.lng files where translation is incomplete are marked with "***") For a moderated list, the "From:" header line will now identify the sender rather than the moderator. Now have the option of using TNI files in place of INI files. You may now specify the name (including directory, if desired) of the log file. You may now specify the directory holding the archives. (FILES PAGE NOT YET DOCUMENTED.) Released as beta-test version. -- Peter Moylan http://www.pmoylan.org
