From: "John Angelico" Date: Tue Mar 6, 2001 12:00 am Subject: OS/2 SIG Report Feb 2001 PLUS! Hello all! Below you will find the full report of the Feb meeting (some attachments won't find their way into the PC Update version) and I am pleased to announce that subsequent to the meeting we have been able to negotiate with our South Aussie colleagues to transfer the os2genau mailing list off the yahoo-egroups "free-adverts-get-in-the-flaming-way" list and onto 1) an OS/2 server (3 cheers!) 2) run by an OS/2 enthusiast who is also running a commercial ISP operation (3 cheers!) 3) using a proper os2 domain name (3 cheers!) I have posted this message to the new list os2genau@o... as a parallel test run to ensure that we have transferred all the addresses correctly. So I hope that within 24 hours, you should all receive TWO reports - one to each list address. If you only receive one, please tell me pronto which list you did receive, and we will analyse the error and fix it as necessary. Once that is completed, we will a) transfer archive messages if possible, b) issue a faq on use of the new list and then c) close off egroups. This represents stage one of three or four: 1) hosting our mail on a server within the OS/2 community. 2) Stage two will be to rebuild web pages for Australian OS/2 (and eCS) groups using the os2 dot org dot au domain; 3) Stage three we hope will be establishing FTP file areas and 4) a possible stage four will be to link with os2world dot com Then we'll think about giving melbpc dot org dot au a link to the site...
