My BIOS is dated 29/12/2000 and it definitely doesn't let OS/2 see more that 64Mb. -- Leigh Bunting Colonel Light Gardens South Australia Find out more about Col. The Nagano Olympics were a "pure OS/2" olympics. The Sydney Olympics ran a mixture of OS/2, Windows 95 and Windows NT on the later, PC300GL model however we still used some of the "old" Nagano machines for testing applications. Often the older 133/166 MHz machines out performed the newer 300 MHz machines - explain that ! Any way my point is the machine you have is certainly OS/2 ready. I think the problem you have is that you are running out of Threads rther than out of ram memory. Check in Config.sys and see what value is set for THREADS=. It's possibly 512 or 1024 - with your configuration you can easily increase this to 4095 (the maximum) and you'll probably see an improvement. Why don't you always have this problem ? You have one or more badly written applications which are not realeasing threads after they have used them. This of course means, by increasing the number available, we are only delaying the point where the problem will re-occur, but hopefully you will decide to restart the system for some other reason before this happens. BTW also if Maxwait is set to 3 you can reduce this to 1 on a pentium system. I would trust the information you get from Theseus over non-IBM utilities (no disrespect to Danni but Theseus is a very good product).By the way there is an upgrade to WSeB and Convienience pack versions of OS/2 Warp to handle the new features. Whilst somewhat buggy on certain hardware, it has the ability to log & display useful tuning parameters like amount of memory used, threads etc. It is an excellent tool for problem determination & tuning. Let me know how you go. -- Regards, Daryl Pilkington //// The PC Therapist, Business Computing Integration O OS/2 Warp, Redhat Linux, DB2 IBM Certified Systems Expert email: darylpatpc-therapist dot com dot au ICQ: 91914134 Tel: +61-2-8902-1300 Mob: +61-425-251-300 Mob SMS: 0425251300.0000atorangenet dot com dot au (120 characters max, send no carriage returns) End==================================== List Admin Note: The format of the digest will be changing in the next few weeks or so, to allow easier reading, the codings just a bit more difficult but thank you for bearing with me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To Subscribe/Unsubscribe please go to http://www.os2site.com/list/ ================================================
