Also, since it's a system at work and used in the office, the boss insists on having Macafee running. The file I mentioned can be seen, just not copied to HD. I get a "Parameter is incorrect" type message if copying using WPS. It's another message if using a DOS or OS/2 command line. Thanks for your input. Most appreciated :-) Cheers Gavin 3================================================= From: "Gavin Miller" Date: Sat, 30 Jun 2001 09:21:22 -0400 (EDT) Subject: [os2genau] DIVE problems Hi All, Anyone out there who use an S3 Virge/DX have any DIVE problems? I liberated a malfunctioning system (power supply) from work and put some of the parts into a system I had lying around and decided to play. The system now is PII 266, 64Mb ram, 10Gb HD split into C: 1Gig D: 540Mb E: 2Gig F: Whatevers left, 36x CD rom, no NIC, Only OS/2 on D: no other OS's + FP9, and of course the S3 Virge/DX /w 2Mb None of my DIVE based software runs and multimedia video is very sluggish (my P75 with 32meg and 1 meg video is ALOTfaster) Any ideas? Has DIVE been updated further in any other fix packs? Is it just the card? Does any list member run the IBM Netfinity Software on a machine that is also running the X-Workplace WPS modifications ?? When try to start up my system after installing Netfinity V 5.20.5 or .6 or .7 I get an access violation reported on NFCRT30.DLL. I suspect this is a conflict with X-Workplace as I don't get it on a machine that doesn't run X-Workplace, but then again, this other machine is a totally different machine (an IBM 300 PL Desktop PC). My home system is a 533 MHz Celeron home built clone. Even if you don't use Netfinity software, can anyone tell me how to disable X-Workplace to prove this is the issue ?? I don't want to de-install X-Workplace just to test, if I can avoid it. Grab Scitech Display doctor - works great with the Virge chipsets and the IBM version is free. Regards, Paul..
