I'm sure I remember a reference to something like this from several years ago and no I don't mean John's rexx fix for the desktop id, tried that already :-)) Thanks to the resilience and flexibility of OS/2 I can still access my software by using another shell ! I'm very unskilled in this Odin stuff. So far I've managed to get winamp and realplayer working reasonably. From memory I installed OziExplorer under Windows NT 4.0 onto a network drive - then access that drive from OS/2. Presumably copying the installed files ont an OS/2 directory would work. Most features work but the map view doesn't refresh properly when scrolled. you quickly end up with a real mess. For this reason it is not really usable. REBUILD: Routine to rebuild system installed objects listed in *.RC files. Can be used as an alternative to using the MAKEINI command. Your INI.RC file is used by MAKEINI.EXE during installation to create your OS2.INI file. Syntax: REBUILD object [(filespec| Valid objects A(ll), F(olders), P(rograms), O(ther) Can also can use (filespec for name of *.RC file, default is \OS2\INI.RC Voytek 4============================================== Date: Wed, 17 Oct 2001 10:47:33 From: voytekatsbt dot net dot au Subject: Re: [os2genau] Boot to Command Prompt ( custom ) ** Reply to note from "Robert Traynor (BobT)" Tue, 16 Oct 2001 12:57:50 +1000 > I use a small utility called Shutup.exe which sits in the root > directory of my boot drives. > > Simply type shutup and press enter.
