Just installed the Warp 4 Convienence Pack over my default install, all SCSI, 2 Adaptec cards, 1 SCSI CDWR, and 1 IDE CDROM. Perfect, flawless, I didnt have to do anything apart from drag some icons back, and remove all the DOS rubbish. The whole thing took me just under an hour, and that included installing the CP Fixpack #1 and Peer. This isnt fair, weres the thrill of the install ! For my next trick, I'll be installing eCS on my wifes PC :-) Do you think I should tell her ;-) Cheers Ian B Manners http://www.os2site dot com/ NEVER lie to a telepath or an empath. In my quest for bevity I didn't include the context. So... Occasionally, changes to CONFIG.SYS don't work, with the result being a failure to start the WorkPlace Shell. Then, we can boot to a command prompt, to fix the problem ( which might mean using TEDIT to correct CONFIG.SYS, or shifting or renaming boot files ). I've just Sracked some partitions on my new hard disk. To be able to shift/rename files in the Stacked 'volumes', from a boot to command prompt, Stacker must be loaded so that OS2 can find the files. BUT, I still want to ba able to boot to a command prompt without Stacker loaded ( sometimes ). SO, I'll keep the default ALT+F1 option of booting to a command prompt, and I want to add an option of booting to a custom CONFIG ( in this case, it will also be to a command prompt, but with Stacked volumes mounted ). I just don't understand why it won't REBOOT or EXIT. My Standard Operating Environment, (SOE) consists of: C: D: E: F: Normal Boot Maint Boot Your Apps OS OS Data TEMP Spooler Swapper You can quickly boot to the maintenance partition & ZIP up a partition, burn it to a CDR & have many snapshots of a working system. Of course you need to document & test how you created each install :) On Mon, 15 Oct 2001 21:14:26 -0400, Chris_neeson wrote:
