In \os2\os2.ini check the entries under Application "PM_Workplace:Startup" to make sure that when the boot is from , that you are not also starting e.g. the C:\desktop etc. check in the PM_Workplace:Templates that you don't have any from C:-drive. Have you done a chkdsk c: /f:2 on the C-drive from the booted maintenamce partition?
