I guess you need to define what is the same as well as what is different between your systems before you can create a "change script" for network settings. If a lot of things are different, it's probably as easy to run MPTS, TCPCFG2 and \IBMLAN\INSTALL\LANINST as create a program to do it ! As for SciTech Display Doctor, if it finds video chipset that it doesn't support, it loads the IBM Gradd drivers. It shouldn't trap ! Are you sure the hardware itself is OK ? Can you try it with a different card ? The list of supported video chipsets for the se version is on DDPAK online, I think and the list of all chipsets supported for the full version will be on the Scitech website. Further to this, you might want to download and try the demo of the full version of SDD from the SCITECH site (by the way it's not scitech dot com - so search for it via Yahoo or another search engine). If it happens on the demo full version as well, then you'll need to contact SciTech. I presume you are using version 10 ?? Cheers/2 Ed. By the way, you'll need to be at least at FP15 (or MCP) - there were multiple problems for VPC/2 with FP14 and earlier OS levels. Not sure what level this equates to under eCs. You might also check that you have localhost defined as 127.0.0.1. Cheers/2 Ed. I presume you are using version 10 ?? I do not have a full version. is there a timeout eval, do you know ? not sure, whatever version came with CP2, no can check now, decided to install on a new 9GB SCSI HD, and, install format /long right now say, you would know how to determine SCSI HD geometry ? BTW, i've run SysBench against S3 driver vs Scitech: marginally faster in graphics test, 3x faster in DIVE test; and, Scitech will refresh at85 vs 80 for S3 driver Voytek Eymont SBT Information Systems Pty Ltd http://www.sbt dot net dot au/links/ phone +61-2 9310-1144 fax +61-2 9310-1118 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **= Email 12 ==========================** Date: Mon, 03 Jun 2002 20:41:54 +1000 From: Ed Durrant Subject: Re: [os2genau] SCitech video driver, changing video card, how ? Have a look at www.whirlpool dot net dot au. They call themselves "the Australian broadband user community". There are forums about all the broadband access types in Australia. They have ones for satellite there, but, I've never looked at them. It's based on the feedback there that I've chosen Internode. I'm just hoping that there's nothing about my phone line that will stop me getting ADSL at all. -- David Forrester davidforatterrigal dot net dot au http://www.os2world dot com/djfos2/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
