If I use the switches Kris describes I get a warning about the valid switch options allowed with UnZipSFX. Please let me know when/how you get it going. I think a further runtime update has been released since, but I'm stuck here. Please let me know Use unzip.exe, or use the unzip.exe that normally lives in your x:\tcpip\bin directory, also check your path for other copys of unzip, as some support different sets of compression and shrink/unshrink. Its not unusual to fine a couple of different versions, and makes of unzip.exe floating around. I can explode the javainrt.exe, without the -di -ov switches, in its temp directory without a problem. I think the switches are for the toolkit as Kris indicated. But once unzipped I have the install problem, just as Ed described it. the FI doesn't want to work properly. BTW I did have mixed unzip.exe's pathed :-) . That's why. btw: you have to keep out unduly floating around *zip.exe programs out of your path too. > t -- Groeten uit Gent, Kris ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **= Email 5 ==========================** Date: Fri, 28 Jun 2002 17:08:33 +1000 (EST) From: "Ian Manners" Subject: Re: [os2genau] Java 1.3 SDK Installation > Before too much confuson creeps in ....... I'm sure it says this in the readme somewere to. I see an opportunity to get into flat-bed scanning cheaply using a Primax 300dpi unit with a SCSI card. Can anyone tell me if TWAIN or SANE drivers will successfully coax, wheedle or cajole images out of this thing? I have found "Primax" on the SANE homepage list of supported equipment under "Mustek" driver and showing only the Compact 4800 SCSI model. What do I need to know about scanners in general to properly go as mad as everyone else? LTD. http://www.businessonline.co.nz/computer.htm And a link near the bottom right of that page has an entry for:- "StarTrax Sound - software for broadcast stations. " http://monstar.co.nz/ However the url for http://monstar.co.nz/ comes up with a blank page, except for the word "Monstar" at the top. Maybe it is in a stage of construction or has been discontinued. Perhaps you could make an email enquiry at:- robertmatbusinessonline.co.nz I also did a more wide ranging search and came up with:- StarTrax Broadcast Systems 9898 Bissonnet, #592 Houston, TX 77036 800 961-7573 but with no web or email address other than the listing above which was mentioned on:- http://www.globalcommnet dot com/ffolder/f6.htm Hope this helps, Robert Traynor (BobT) 28 June 2002 On Sun, 23 Jun 2002 21:41:30 -0500, G Hudson wrote: > Hi everyone, > > I am looking for the developers of the StarTrax radio station software. > I had heard that the original developers were fron New Zealand. > > I am interested in names or e-mail address of the current or original > developers of the OS/2 package. > > thanks > Glenn Hudson ,-._|\ Robert Traynor (BobT) / Oz \ email rtraynoratnetstra dot com dot au \_,--.x/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **= Email 8 ==========================** Date: Fri, 28 Jun 2002 20:57:00 +1000 From: Ed Durrant Subject: Re: [os2genau] Java 1.3 SDK Installation I believe the point is not to install separate components, rather to download all the ones you need, expand them into the same directory structure and then go into the install program. Apparently the install program is adaptive and will give options to install whichever components it finds. Brian - as the original one with this problem, do you have anything to add ? Cheers/2 Ed. If a scanner is listed as supported on the SANE site this DOES NOT mean it's supported through the OS/2 port of SANE (Scanimage.exe). If Paul Smedley in Adelaide is monitoring this list, he's the local expert and helped me extensively in getting my Canon SCSI scanner to work under OS/2. Cheers/2 Ed.
