My recollection was that it would automaticly change the Inf file when switching. The reason I say normally yes is you need to ensure it is a 100% Adaptec card with no mods by Compaq. ie, I've had no problems updating my old IBM supplied ones except for one card in particular that I suspect uses a standard eprom, and not flash. Never bothered looking into it as it was just a whim. As always it is at your own risk.
