There was (of course) IP Phone for OS/2 from IBM some years ago. The problem is that the server that it needs to operate through is no longer active, hence the client code becomes pretty useless unless we can get the server code and set something up. Perhaps a Windoze product will work via ODIN. The recent versions of ODIN are very impressive in what they can do. I've just got the latest Notes client (version 6.5.2) FULLY working under OS/2 with the latest ODIN build. An IP telephony program may have hooks into specific Microsoft IP stack locations however. Hey but it's probably worth a try if we can get a trial version of the code ! What is a SpeakUp? Well, its organized via IRC (Internet Relay Chat). On an IRC SpeakUp you will get a chance to talk to software developers, for instance. The person/organization/company invited for the SpeakUp will give a short introduction about himself and the product or project they work on. And then the real part of the SpeakUp starts! You can ask questions! Do you like Warpstock (www.warpstock dot org)? Warpstock is great, but Warpstock is only organized once a year. Then you will like VOICE SpeakUps (depending on the subject, of course). We will try and organize SpeakUps every month on a subject of interest. What is new, is that SpeakUps will be organized twice. The first VOICE SpeakUp of the month will be targeted especially at the US. The second meeting will be targeted at Asia and Australia. This targeting will be accomplished by the timing of the IRC to suit the locale. The first two VOICE SpeakUp will be organized in September. The guest on that SpeakUp will be Jan van Wijk. Author the DFSEE, the swiss army knife for hard disk maintenance and data recovery. The first speakup was on Saturday 11 September 22:00-00:00 GMT. The second speakup will be on 25 September 10:00-12:00 GMT (targetted at Asia and Australia). (Both times are London time!!). Note that local time in London will be from 10:00 to 12:00 on Saturday. In Australia (Sydney time) it will be Sunday from 19:00 to 21:00! Visit http://www.timezoneconverter dot com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc for timezone help. To find the server closest to you, go to http://irc.fyrelizard dot com/ . Channel #voice can be found on any of these servers. If you don't have a IRC client.
