If you have eCS 1 or 1.1 Cds, check on the second disk. The HP Business Inkjet 1000 seems to be going for a reasonable price locally - anyone tried this one on OS/2 or eComStation? The Business Inkjet 1100 is listed in the omni drivers, and the HP manual for the printer states: Information about using the IBM PostScript 3 emulation printer driver for IBM OS/2. Visit http://www.hp dot com/support/businessinkjet1000. Of course - at that page I can't find any information. I did do a little googling and found that the printer can work in Wordperfect 5.1 using the Business Inkjet 1100 driver so it may be OK? -- Cheers, Paul. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **= Email 5 ==========================** Date: Sun, 09 Jul 2006 11:59:21 +1000 From: Ed Durrant Subject: Re: HP Business Inkjet 1000 Paul Smedley wrote: > Hi All, > > Seems my old Epson inkjet printer has died so I'm in the hunt for another. > > The HP Business Inkjet 1000 seems to be going for a reasonable price > locally - anyone tried this one on OS/2 or eComStation? > > The Business Inkjet 1100 is listed in the omni drivers, and the HP > manual for the printer states: > Information about using the IBM PostScript 3 emulation printer driver > for IBM OS/2. This was the case with my Epson Stylus color 680. It seems there are counters in these printers that stop the printer working unless you take it in for a "service" (the Epson dealer then changes the sponge that collects any excess ink from the cartridges and then resets the counter(s). You're dead right Chuck. .PPD files are plain text files and are common across /all/ OSes which can handle postscript. So it doesn't matter what OS they /say/ it's for, it's for /all/ OSes.
