It might very well be possible eCS 1.2 I still worked on Mensys and is light years old. It might still work on a Thinkpad such as T23/A31 or T42 for example. But if you are trying something more modern you might be just opening a can a of worms. When you press ALT F4 when the OS/2 boot blob in the left hand corner of the screen is displayed you can see what drivers are being load. The system might still TRAP. But if it gets passed the boot logo you can hit the space bar and see on which driver it crashes. Try changing the IDE driver from DANIS506.ADD to IBM1s506.add in the preboot menu. The IBM1FLPY.ADD almost never causes a kernel trap. It most likely the IDE driver. I would not recommend going back to 1.1. It might be worth while to get 1.2 working which comes with a whole lot more fixes. I upset the partition structure so = resorted to running the =E2=80=9CRescue and Recovery=E2=80=9D disks That got me nowhere. dfsee was unable to help So finally I tried restoring to factory defaults, XP. That didn=E2=80=99t = work. So having read all the advice I attempted to install ECS v1.2 I did make a change in the configuration, checked the Stop on error = item. Remarkably it went through to the registration, no USB support at that = stage so had to enter it by hand, had a double zero which caused a hiccup Created a 1000Mb partition and formatted it and went through the reboot. Then when rebooting the C:\OS2\BOOT\COM.SYS didn=E2=80=99t load and the system stopped with the dreaded TRAP 000d = message. Any thoughts on how to get past this?
