An additional point to note when converting HPFS-Boot volumes to JFS-Boot volumes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have personally always accepted the stock 4KB allocation units for JFS formatting. This means of course that as HPFS uses 512 byte allocation units, there will be an increase in the used space on a JFS volume relative to that on the HPFS volume, especially if there are many small files, so allow an additional amount of probably 5% at least on the JFS volume, unless the HPFS volume had plenty of freespace initially. There have been some problems reported of JFS-Boot volumes not always shutting down cleanly. To counter this possible effect what I did was create a Program object for "cachejfs.exe" with "/L:OFF" as argument, and as I run the full XWorkplace, I put it into the "Xworkplace Shutdown Folder". There may be other ways to implement this for those only running eWorkplace or neither! regards, Mike O'Connor
