- The boot time hardware configuration tool, Kudzu, may or may not detect the adapter. 
- Output of the "lsmod" command lists the pcnet32 driver as unused (0) under the "Used" column. 
- Output of the "ifconfig -a" command shows that the MAC address is HAaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00, indicating that it is not recognized.
