The caller was seriously injured with a possible broken back, unable to move, and he had no idea where he was. He was lying in deep snow on a day that was well below freezing. The 911 dispatcher was able to plot the geo coordinates from the caller's cell phone and the information was entered into an event record on Keystone's CAD System. Once the event was entered, it was plotted and indicated on Keystone's KeyMap product. They were able to direct the Deputies using Keystone's Automatic Vehicle Location System, right to the emergency scene. The Deputies quickly called for a helicopter and the victim was flown to a hospital in Rochester, New York. Without Keystone's technology in place, to include the Phase Two Mapping of the wireless cell phone, this incident would probably have had a very different outcome. http://www.keyinfosys.com Don't miss DB2 Magazine's New Look, New Content Watch your mailbox this month for a completely redesigned print edition of DB2 Magazine. Write database applications using the Unified ODBC extension. Overcome common performance issues due to scrollable cursors and avoid functional limitations in stored procedures. The Unified ODBC extension for PHP offers a common interface for developing PHP applications that connect to databases through an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver. The DB2 client includes an ODBC driver that enables you to access data in Apache Derby, Cloudscape, DB2 UDB for Linux(TM), UNIX®, and Windows®, and DB2 UDB for iSeries(TM) and zSeries® servers.
