Image Information On Demand. IBM software and industry consulting team up to help you drive greater business value from your information.
More than 60 percent of CEOs agree that businesses need to do a better job of leveraging their information.* IBM introduces its Information On Demand strategy, combining its software and industry consulting expertise to help meet this challenge.

The initiative includes a US$1 billion investment over the next three years to expand its information management software development. IBM will also expand its commitment to helping clients deliver more business value from innovative uses of information by dedicating 15,000 skilled practitioners globally and growing this base of expertise by 65 percent over the next 3 years.

Additionally, six new solution portfolios and new software products will help clients transform their businesses from an outdated model in which data is managed as an afterthought from within applications, to an environment in which information is set free and managed as a strategic asset to drive better decision making. IBM is also introducing step-by-step assessment tools and a new center of excellence to help clients quickly assess and tackle their individual information requirements.

Visit the IBM Information On Demand Web site and read the press release, learn more abut the new products and solutions, read white papers and get details on the Information On Demand center of excellence and access the new assessment tools.

Herbalife transforms the SOX challenge into opportunity.
Going public is an exciting and critical step for growing companies. New regulations for public firms present a new wrinkle to this hallmark of growth and success. In the case of Herbalife, a weight management and nutritional supplement company with US$1 billion in sales, it meant gearing up quickly to meet the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance challenge.

Herbalife worked with IBM to create a turnkey compliance portal with the flexibility to serve as the foundation for the company's current and future business control needs. Based on the IBM Workplace™ for Business Controls and Reporting solution and customized by a diverse team from IBM Business Consulting Services, the compliance portal is expected to reduce SOX compliance costs by 20 percent. It has also transformed the compliance challenge into an opportunity for Herbalife. "IBM not only helped us minimize the impact of SOX compliance, but in the process also gave us the means to better understand our business, make better decisions and ultimately compete more effectively," said Paul Marlowe, Senior Vice President, Internal Audit at Herbalife.

On Demand Business

Video -- Get the big picture on IBM Information On Demand. Simplify information management to achieve your business goals.
As Tom Inman, IBM Vice President, Marketing, Information Management points out in this online video, 70 percent of people's time is spent searching for information and only 30 percent making intelligent decisions. Watch the video and see how IBM Information On Demand can become your new strategy and vision for inverting this ratio.

In "IBM Information On Demand: What's It All About? IBM's Vision and Strategy," you will see how years of insufficient standards, applications aimed at ad hoc issues and lack of an IT roadmap have resulted in a complex world where information is disconnected, unreliable and often inaccessible to the people and processes that need it. Learn how today's core business challenges demand that this complexity be overcome and simplified by delivering information as a service.

You will get the high level vision based on specific challenges that IBM customers have experienced. You will also gain an understanding of the open architecture that focuses on key services to help you achieve business imperatives such as reducing risk, gaining insight into your information for better decision making, transforming your business and lowering costs.
