IDS 11 - Cheetah is off and running!

IBM's recent announcement of Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) 11, formerly code-named Cheetah, has been globally received by customers with much praise and fanfare. Already renowned for its legendary reliability, IDS 11 is the first data server in the industry to provide continuous availability and disaster recovery regardless of the geographic location or distance between backup data center sites.

Other advances in IDS 11, including increased performance, security enhancements and virtually hands-free administration, make IDS the optimal data server of choice for integrated, high transaction OLTP environments. With IDS, IBM successfully addresses the needs of our clients for a reliable and resilient dynamic information infrastructure while controlling storage and administrative costs.

The IDS 11 R&D team is the largest development team for IDS since the acquisition of Informix in 2001 and IBM has dedicated more marketing and PR resources to Cheetah than any prior release of IDS. More than 1000 customers and Business Partners participated in the Cheetah Test Run, the first ever open beta program for IDS. Tranforming UK Scout Movement
