Information On Demand Today

Welcome to Information On Demand Today!

IBM has continued to build tremendous momentum around Information On Demand.  We recently unveiled our new dynamic warehousing initiative to usher in a third generation of how organizations leverage information.  New capabilities will help organizations go beyond traditional business insight to deliver deeper, more relevant Information On Demand.  This can help global businesses and organizations of all sizes to optimize real-time business processes, transform customer service, increase employee productivity, reduce risk and generate new revenue opportunities.

Initial efforts at generating business insight were focused on query and reporting of financials, sales figures and other previously captured data to understand what has happened.  Now organizations are looking for new ways to make available and analyze Information On Demand so they can optimize each transaction -- in the call center, in the field, when helping customers or when taking orders.

Dynamic warehousing provides a fresh approach by:

  • providing real-time analytics that can be leveraged as part of a business process
  • enabling the use of knowledge buried in unstructured information
  • supporting real-time access to aggregated, cleansed information, and
  • extending beyond the warehouse to include a complete set of integrated capabilities for information on demand such as search and text analytics, information integration, process management, enterprise data modeling, master data management and industry perspectives.

Product announcements supporting Dynamic Warehousing include new and enhanced versions of:

  • DB2 Data Warehouse and IBM OmniFind Analytics Edition
  • industry data models for healthcare and insurance, as well as a set of professional services from Global Business Services (GBS) and Global Technology Services (GTS) to take advantage of best practices, and
  • channel offerings targeted at the Small and Medium Business (SMB) market with support from more than 30 partners.

In related news, we also introduced the IBM Balanced WarehouseTM, the next evolution of the Balanced Configuration Unit (BCU), to provide complete warehousing solutions with pre-configured software, hardware and storage, enabling faster implementation times with lower risk.

Learn more on these announcements that provide our clients with all of the capabilities required for dynamic warehousing by visiting www.ibm.com/software/data.
