A Letter from Mark Register

My thanks go out to all of our customers, Business Partners, press, analysts, and IBMers that all made IBM’s Information On Demand 2007 a resounding success. As Steve Mills, Senior VP and Group Executive SWG, said during the conference grand opening session, "The world is moving into an era of extreme transaction processing, extreme information management."  IBM is leading the charge, joined by business partners and forward-looking customers who are committed to unlocking and extracting value from their business information.

An increase in attendees and business partner participants, an expanded and always-packed EXPO Center, great customer keynote speakers as well as Dr. Stephen Covey, renowned author of “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and Chris Anderson, Editor-in-Chief of Wired Magazine, were all key components of Information On Demand 2007.  The conference provided a vibrant showcase of products, solutions and technologies, an interactive forum where expertise and best practices are shared, and a networking venue for creating new solutions.   And the world is hearing about the event--- within the first 3 days-- 54 articles were published in the press and that number continues to grow.

There were 6500 attendees, over 300 one on one meetings with executives, over 400 Meet the Expert sessions with 104 experts, more than 200 customers a day in the client reference lounge, 756 breakout sessions with 225 customer/BP speakers, 1846 events during the week, 46 press  from 25 countries and 48 analysts, 197 business partners exhibiting with 54 premium sponsors, 1519 developers visiting Developer Den, 1339 visitors to the Usability Center, 3747 seats in Hands On Labs, and 192 ancillary meetings which weren’t in the original conference plans!

In case you missed this year’s event, you can learn about our latest IBM Information On Demand solutions, new announcements and future technologies at our website. In addition, we have mini-versions of our conference coming to you — they're geared to appeal to anyone with an interest in the latest information management technologies and solutions.

And for those who want to get ready for our next annual event, mark your calendars for IBM’s Information On Demand 2008 conference which will be held again at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas from October 26 through October 31, 2008 providing you with an exceptional learning experience and information to successfully deliver innovative solutions.
