It’s now official. IBM welcomes Cognos to our Information On Demand family of business optimization solutions. With the addition of Cognos, IBM becomes the industry's leading provider of technology and services for Business Intelligence and Performance Management, delivering a complete BI and performance management platform, fully integrated on an open-standards-based service oriented architecture (SOA).

But that’s not all. 2008 plans to be a very exciting year for Information Management! We’re continuing to build momentum in providing solutions and offerings that unlock the business value of your information.

On January 30, 2008 IBM introduced a new family of products that enable organizations to transform information into a trusted asset for businesses. The new product family begins with the availability of the IBM InfoSphere™ MDM Server and the announcement of IBM InfoSphere™ Warehouse with Optim™ Data Retention expanding with more products throughout 2008 and beyond.

The InfoSphere product family name describes a new category of middleware from IBM that we are calling “information middleware” which integrates and transforms information into a trusted asset. InfoSphere information middleware provides information integration, warehousing, and management capabilities to enable organizations to capture the strategic value of information and leverage it as an enterprise-wide asset making businesses more competitive and successful.
