Date: Mon, 15 Jan 2001 22:44:45 -0000 From: "Timur Tabi" Subject: WarpCast is currently disabled Most of you probably realize this already, but the WarpCast mailing list has been broken for a few weeks. Apparently, BMT Micro had a hardware failure, and that hardware was carrying several mailing lists, including the OS/2 SuperSite lists (i.e. those that have an atos2ss.com address). This eGroups.com mailing list is simply a front-end for the official WarpCast mailing list - if that list is down, then this list doesn't get any submissions. No one outside of BMT Micro has any idea when their servers will be restored, and I don't know of anyone who's actually been able to contact BMT Micro about it. Frankly, I am surprised and disappointed that it's taking BMT Micro longer than a month to recover from a simple hardware failure. They assumed ownership of the OS/2 SuperSite and related online services, but it appears that they don't have the resources to maintain these services properly. If you are subscribed to other OS/2-related mailing lists and find that they have also dried up since December, they may have been hosted on BMT Micro's server and are also now dead. Several of those lists have moved to eGroups.com. Until BMT Micro gets their act together, there are several other online resources for OS/2 news: 1. http://www.os2bbs.com/os2news/ 2. http://www.os2.org/ 3. http://www.os2world.com/ 4. The VOICE News List, to subscribe yourself to this list, send the following message to majormajoratos2voice.org subscribe news end 5. Also note there is an extensive list of OS/2 oriented mailing lists at the VOICE site - http://www.os2voice.org/mailinglists.html 6. The comp.os.os2.announce newsgroup 7. http://www.warpcity.com/ (paid subsription only) To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to warpcast-unsubscribeategroups.com or go to http://www.egroups.com/group/warpcast.
