Tustin Ave. Web Browser Fest Internet SIG leader Dave Watson will show us the new OS/2 web browsers. We'll see the brand new Opera Browser for OS/2 - and learn how to install it, which installer to use, and what DLLs you need to run it. You'll also see the newest release of the Warpzilla OS/2 browser, the open-source Mozilla browser, which used to be called Netscape. With Warpzilla you have a choice - there is a native OS/2 version, an OS/2-EMX version, and an OS/2-XFree86 version; and Dave will show them all. Want Sun's HotJava browser running on OS/2? Dave has it! He also has the IBM Software Choice browser with the new high-speed NSPR4.DLL. Whew! We'll also have Q&A, a raffle, and then the Saturday SIG meetings: General Interest Group: President Tony Butka plans to show us the latest releases of GhostView and GhostScript. Programming SIG: Dallas Legan & Peter Skye are back on with their compiling project, porting Net-SNMP to OS/2 using EMX. Let's hope this month they actually get time to do it! They're also interested in porting Octave and W3M (a text-based browser whose name translates roughly to "See the WWW"; for more info go to http://ei5nazha.yz.yamagata-u.ac.jp/~aito/w3m/eng/). Help Desk chats now happen on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM PDT. If you've got a problem with hardware or software, join the chat and ask for help. For further info, go to http://www.scoug.com/chat/index.html. Sunday, August 12, 2:30 PM PDT meetings at Chapman University, Orange: OS/2 Help Desk: Got problems with your system? Volunteers at the OS/2 Help Desk will help you solve them. Bring your system and all related components along with a detailed explanation of your problem. Networking SIG: Will be providing help to members with various networking issues. How to get to Regal Lanes: From the 55 freeway, exit Katella Ave. heading west. Turn right (north) at the first major intersection onto Tustin Ave. At the next signal you'll find Regal Lanes on your right. It's across from the Toyota of Orange dealership. There's lots of parking on the south side of the building. Enter from the east entrance of the building (farthest from Tustin Ave.), not the main (front) entrance to the facility. Take the stairs to the 2nd floor; meeting rooms (and restrooms) will be on your left. Handicapped access is via an elevator by the front door. OR: Go to http://www.scoug.com/directions.html; there is a map to Regal Lanes, plus a more detailed map & driving directions from Yahoo! How to get to Chapman University: There are two ways to get directions: 1) Go to http://www.scoug.com/warpexpowest/sitemap.html 2) Go to http://www.mapquest.com/ and enter the address 400 N. Center Street, Orange, CA. You can park in any of the University lots for free on Sundays, but if you part on the street, watch the signs carefully or else risk getting a parking ticket. Come to Hashinger Hall Science Building, room 203. It's on the second floor and there's an elevator for you to bring up your equipment.
