Note that the kernel included with FixPak 2 (Level 14.088) has a bug that
turns off the DELDIR function.

It *appears* to work because it updates the control file as if the deleted
file was saved to the DELDIR,  but if you try to restore the file you will
get a error message that the file could not be restored.

IBM is aware of the problem and it has been fixed in subsequent kernels on
testcase.

If DELDIR is important to you (it was to me), you will have to restore the
older kernel from the BACKUP  directory after the fixpak is installed.
