Subject:  [VOICENWS] Admin: Sorry for the old posts, and prefix update

I appologize for several old posts that popped up on the News list
yesterday.  I'm not sure how it happened, but it was related to some work
I was doing on the mail server trying to clear another problem.  It
appears to have been contained to just those 3 older posts from the past
month or so.

I have received several comments reagrding the new prefixes added to the
subject line.  Everyone seems to be in favor of them, and there were
several suggestions.

 - To help limit the added length, Software: will now be changed to SW:
Hopefully this won't be confused with SWC:
 - I haven't seen a need for it yet, but will add HW: for any primarily
hardware announcements.
 - Hobbes: has been dropped since its really all software anyway.
 - I've added Admin: to take care of messages like this one.
 - I've added Mag: to announce any electronic magazine (VOICE Newsletter,
OS/2eZine and OS/2 Connect)
 - I've added Net: for any website announcements.  I considered using
things like Testcase: to be more specific, but have decided at least for
now to rely on the more general term Net:.  Hopefully microsoft hasn't
decided that anything with Net in it belongs to them.

I'm still not sure if VOICE items should be labelled VOICE: or just use
the appropriate category.  

As always if anyone has an opinion, comment or suggestion, please send it
to feedbackatos2voice.org not to the list or submit addresses.

The current complete list is as follows:

    "SWC:" if it is only available on IBM's Software Choice and
eComStation's UP, 
    "eCS:" if it is directly related to eComStation, 
    "SW:" if it is any other software package. 
    "HW:" if it is primarily a hardware announcement. 
    "Event:" For user group meetings and other events.
    "Job:" if it's employment related.
    "OT:" Off topic posts, of which we have very few, will continue to be
labelled "OT:"
    "Admin:" For list administrative messages
    "Net:" Website or general internet announcements
    "Mag:" electronic Magazine announcements (Such as VOICE Newsletter,
OS/2eZine and OS/2 Connect)
 
General OS/2 related posts (or those I can't figure out) will not have a
label.
