The Programmers Editor was specifically designed for editing source  code.
This means that it does the common tasks of line-oriented editing  quickly
and easily. It does not mean that the editor understands programming
language syntax. That is left to the programmer. 

Some of the features of the editor follow.

It is a console application, not a GUI.
Designed for Personal Computers. Uses the function and alt-keys
effectively. Simultaneous editing of many files. Copy and paste between
files. No limit on file size.
Very fast search and replace.
Not customizable, but the commands are intuitive.
Tab and Enter keys are for movement in replace mode. In insert mode, tabs
are space-filled so any tabsize can be used portably. Option to use the
tab character if needed, as required in UNIX makefiles. Has some limited
binary file editing capability.
The editor is very small, about 100K bytes.

Available for Win32, linux, and OS/2.

There is no charge for the Programmers Editor.
