The software can be found at; http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/ There is an enormouse number of advanced plugins at; http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/plugins/index.html I've only tried a couple which I needed for a DICOM image application problem but the rest may work just as well. You will need to unpack the EXE file and run the ij.jar file.
