If you are installing eComstation from CD 1 and are not having success, here are some tips. *Frequent beeps from the PC speaker and a hard disk LED keeps burning. eCS uses the Daniela IDE driver by default. These beeps indicate the driver detected data errors (read manual of Daniela driver). You can add in the config.sys behind basedev =danis506.add line the option /forcegbm. Be aware however that these beeps are a clear signal. Check your computer is properly grounded! If you are booting from CD 1 and are having trouble, see next suggestion. *If booting from CD 1 and it fails or install, before booting to hard disk OR the system does not boot up from hard disk AFTER the first phase of the installation (that it has copied files). Boot from CD 1 and press option 2 for the advanced boot menu. Deselect the option Desktop, select Legacy VGA and select under the menu ATAP(PI)/(E)IDE the option Standard. When booted from CD the desktop will not look nice (its only running now at 16 colours). During the installation you come to the screen where you can choose between the Scitech Display Doctor, GenGradd and VGA driver, choose for Scitech display doctor. *If you are having trouble booting from CD 1 get the new diskette 1 one from http://www.ecomstation.com and the read the instructions there. Look when logged in, under the option Fixes/Features and search for "Boot Diskettes (CD1) update may 2002". If you do not have and userid password click on the register button on the main page. In many cases you can register by entering your First name, last name and zipcode information. But your reseller can supply you with this information. *Get the eCS manual from http://www.ecomstation.com/docs/release1.0/ecs-ga-pdf-a5.pdf (Has more documentation on the preboot menu). -> URL: www.ecomstation.com Sent via OS2.org online news formular. -- To unsubscribe yourself from this list, send the following message to majormajoratos2voice.org unsubscribe news end If you have an announcement you would like posted to the VOICE News list, please send it to submitatos2voice.org.
