 There is a new version of XSane (X scanner ACCESS Now Easy), front-end
for SANE. Since this is an x-application, an x-server, e.g. XFree86/2 or
HOB X11 is needed.

SANE stands for "Scanner Access Now Easy" and is an application
programming interface (API) that provides standardized access to any
raster image scanner hardware
