It is also interesting to note there is a Mozilla add-on which allows you
to  download files into different directories based on filename
extensions, so for  example when you download .jpg files they go into one
directory of your choosing  and when you download .mp3 files they go into
another directory of your choosing  -- automatically.

Note, though, that there have been reports of some compatibility problems
when running both Download Sorter and the popular Mozgest mouse gestures
add-on.
