From: Tim Cardozo (best viewed with a fixed-width font such as Courier) Have you booked your flight to Warpstock yet? Well, it's time to do it - we're in the sweet spot for the airfare to San Francisco! Here are some examples of current air fare (including most fees and surcharges) from Travelocity based on traveling Friday before Warpstock and leaving Monday after Warpstock ends. round trip Airport Airport City price Code Name ------------------------------------------------ Chicago $231 ...... ORD (O'Hare) (or on ATA) $198 ...... MDW (Midway) Austin $254 ...... AUS (Bergstrom) Phoenix $241 ...... PHX (Sky Harbor) NY (Newark) $291 ...... EWR (Newark) SFO (San Francisco) You should always shop around and compare prices so check out other low-price travel reservation sites such as, http://www.1800cheapseats.com/ http://www.airgorilla.com/ http://www.orbitz.com/ And, have you made your reservation at the hotel? The reserved rooms are going fast. We've had reports of difficulty reserving rooms after Warpstock (you can get the fantastic Warpstock rate for up to 5 days before and after Warpstock). Don't wait for all these rooms to be gone. We're at a Hilton DoubleTree hotel this year and, like most Warpstock's, the action takes place in the hotel at all the informal gatherings that happen over breakfast, lunch, and drinks in the evening. The $85-a-night price is fantastic, these rooms' rack rate is several times that amount. You'd have to be over 63 to get a better rate! FLASH FLASH FLASH!!! Early Bird Pricing for Warpstock itself has been extended to September 25th! It's $99 now for TWO DAYS! That's only $9 more than the single day pricing. After September 25th, it will be $140. So, save some money and book now. It's like getting the Social for only $10! Once again, Warpstock will fulfill our mandate to get the latest and greatest information on OS/2 and eCS to you our guests. We haven't posted all the presentations yet (those presenters just won't get us their synopsis and bios to us in a timely manner!) but WE DO HAVE MANY UNPOSTED PRESENTATIONS at this time. Serenity has once again taken the lead as a Warpstock Patron, and Bob St.John will be manning a booth. eCS Presentations from the source. We know that Mensys' Joachim Benjamins too will be at Warpstock along with Stalker Software makers of Communigate Pro and San Francisco area-based Help Desk Computers. Networking? We will have lots of networking everything this year: Linux, OS/2-eCS, Windows, Wireless Networking, Home Networking. Warpstock Presenters will help you understand how to put that home or office network together. And, SLASHDOT is sending one of their editors to do a presentation, too! And finally, Warpstock's Giveaway. We promise not to toss anything at the audience this year, cause we're going to give away several wired and wireless cable/DSL routers and they might hurt someone, some straight out of the box and some we used for our Warpstock network. SMC and Siemens products that are totally compatible with OS/2 and some routers have print server and dialup support. We even have a network WIFI PCMCIA card or two to give away. So, even if you have a dialup network we're going to give away routers to help you connect and share that connection with other computers. And who knows what that three letter company will bring to give away? Warpstock 2003 is our 7th Warpstock. You never know what will happen! Be there and find out for yourself. Warpstock, Inc., is a North Carolina corporation. The Warpstock annual conference is a gathering of OS/2 users, developers, and vendors from around the world for the purpose of education and advocacy.
