Date: Sat, 20 Sep 2003 09:02:00 -0300 From: "Mark Dodel" Subject: [VOICENWS] SW: Weasel filter to deal with the current mailbombing problem From: "Peter Moylan" If, like me, you have been flooded with unwanted mail as a side-effect of the latest explosion of Windows viruses, you will want some way to control this. My quick-and-dirty solution, in the form of a filter for the Weasel mail server, can be found at ftp://eepjm.newcastle.edu.au/weasel/filters/msvirus.cmd or at http://eepjm.newcastle.edu.au/os2/wfilters.html (look for the MSVirus link) This was prepared in a hurry, and is not a perfect solution, but it will at least get rid of a big proportion of the junk. If anyone wants to improve it, or adapt it to work with other mail software, I have no objection. As a matter of courtesy I would appreciate a copy of any derived work, but I am perfectly willing to collaborate on anti-junk work with people who don't use my software. -- Peter Moylan peterDESPAM at ee.newcastle.edu.au http://eepjm.newcastle.edu.au Having been erased, The document you're seeking Must now be retyped. -- Warpstock 2003 - San Francisco, California, October 18-19 http://www.warpstock.org [Moderator's note: Because of the incredible increase in SPAM lately I will now endeavor to add DESPAM to email addresses in all posts to the News list.
