Why elections? VOICE is there for the OS/2 / eComStation user and the organization is run by OS/2 / eCS users. One of the important parts of VOICE is the BOD (Board of Directors). VOICE has a board of directors with the following functions: President: The president of VOICE; Organizes meetings, assigns tasks and maintains an oversight of what is happening in VOICE. Vice-President: Is there to assist the President and take over the role of president when the president of VOICE is for what ever reason no longer able to fulfill his function. Secretary: Is present at all meetings of VOICE to make logs and deal with communication with members, usergroups, software vendors/developers etc. Treasurer: Deals with the financial details of VOICE (account, pays the bills etc) and maintains the member database. Marketing/Liaison (M.L) officer: Together with the Secretary coordinates speakups on topics, promotes VOICE and its activities. The person being nominated and (when applicable) the person nominating a candidate, should be VOICE members. Submit nominations via the website: http://www.os2voice.org/elections/2004/nominate.html We would ask the nominee for a short biography to be emailed to: nominate at os2voice.org. This will be posted on the VOICE site, upon receipt, and will offer the members some insight into your OS/2 background and assist them in electing the person they feel is most suitable for the position. The nomination process will close on the 14th of August 2004 at 17:00 Midnight New York time. The form for the elections will be available to VOICE members from August 16, 2004 - August 26, 2004. Please note you can only cast your vote if you are a VOICE member. The results of the election will be announced on the 4th of September, 2004 at the bi-monthly VOICE IRC meeting and followed-up with an email to the members mailing list.
