Mark, interesting update in this regard:

"You are now able to join the beta program and participate in the 
development and refinement of this product. Participating will entitle 
you to the GA product, once released, for one host platform. The  price
for the GA will be $99,- so this will save you $49 right away!  The
multi-platform version will be priced at $199,- including all  available
hosts. This version will be available to beta-participants  for $99,-."

This means that anyone participating in the beta right now, will be 
entitled to the full GA product (one host platform only) when  released,
at no additional expense.
