Date: Fri, 24 Jun 2005 10:59:10 -0300 From: madodel at ptdprolog.net Subject: [VOICENWS] Event: OS/2 and eComStation Developers Workshop - Posters and more ++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++ From: DevelopersWorkshopDESPAM at DESPAMnetlabs.org The OS/2 and eComStation Developers Workshop 2005 will be held on July 9th and 10th in Dresden, Germany. Posters: A while back we asked OS/2 developers to create posters for the Developers Workshop. We are pleased to announce that we have received the first two posters, one about WDSibyl÷, the Pascal IDE, and one about the Development Tools Section at EDM/2÷. Posters are a great way to inform people about your work or your project! If you are developing an application or driver for OS/2 or eComStation or if you are maintaining a website that is related to a development project, please consider creating a poster for the Workshop. A poster is simply a very large paper, for example in the A2 to A3 format, that contains an overview about a project. If you want to know more about posters, please visit the Workshop Homepage! We do think that presenting a development project with a poster is a great way to attract more people to your project and make it known to other OS/2 developers! So, it is not too late to hand in a poster of your project! New session: There is one new session for the Workshop. Stefan Neis will talk about wxWidgets - a cross platform toolkit and its OS/2 versions. Schedule: The schedule for the event is already online and does now also contain the important information when the event will start on Saturday! List of Presentations: The Developers Workshop has a total of 12 sessions about OS/2 related development. Almost all of the sessions have a description attached so you can see what they are about. (The descriptions are available on the Workshop Homepage!) Here is an up-to-date list of the presentations: - OS/2 USB Stack Development Guidelines - Supporting USB WebCams in OS/2 - wxWidgets - a cross platform toolkit and its OS/2 versions - netlabs.org - What's up? - Discussion about netlabs.org and OS/2 Software Development - Developing cross-platform text-based applications in C using the OpenWatcom compiler on OS/2 - FORTRAN/TK: Easy GUI development for OS/2 and Windows - Porting X Applications to PM with Everblue - Development roadmap for eComStation - Translating eComStation - Creating an OS/2 IEEE 1394 - Firewire driver - Mozilla Compilation and Development Procedures Last chance to buy Workshop tickets: Just as a reminder, the Workshop team would appreciate it if you would register for the Workshop as early as possible. You can purchase your tickets at the Mensys online shop. We will stop selling tickets through the online shop on July 4th. This means that after that date, you will only be able to register for the event at the check-in desk!
