Rest assured, the VOICE Newsletter won't go the way of all flesh (and paper, for that matter) anytime soon. Actually, you may be pleasently surprised in a short while. More about that below. The reasons for the delays are of different levels, organizational, personnel-wise, and personal: First of all, we haven't exactly been overwhelmed with the number of articles pouring in. Second, the ability of our editors to work on the Newsletter has decreased. Our Editor-in-Chief's company is eating up much of his spare time these days, plus he's been working on other things. As president of Warpstock, Inc., Mark Dodel has been very busy with the upcoming Warpstock event in Hershey. Unfortunately, Jason R. Stefanovich has left the OS/2 platform completely. And Marckus Kraft is a busy man, too. Another reason is of a significantly more positive nature, namely that quite a bit has been going on in the background. Our Editor-in-Chief has been pushing the switch to XHTML/CSS. Together with Holger Manthey and a few others, he has been working on a new XHTML and CSS-based Newsletter design that should be a lot more pleasant to the eye while also making work on the Newsletter easier for both our editors and authors. As our article buffer is low at the moment, we have decided to delay the next issue until we are ready to finally switch to XHTML/CSS. The new layout is almost finished but we still have to clean up the code, adapt our build scripts, and write a tutorial for authors. Anyway, we think that you are going to like the new VOICE Newsletter and find it worth the wait.
