Date: Wed, 21 Dec 2005 07:38:16 -0500 From: madodel Subject: [VOICENWS] SW: SW: 2nd release of Bind 9.3.2rc1 for OS/2 & eComStation ++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++ From: Paul Smedley This is the second public release of Bind 9.3.2rc1 compiled for OS/2 & eComStation and is available from http://smedley.info/os2ports.html It is built with Innotek GCC 3.3.5 GA and requires the libc06 runtime dll which is available from ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/gcc/libc-0.6.0-ga2.zip This has not been extensively tested, but seems to work locally for me. Known issues: * currently requires a 32-bit tcpip stack (ie tcpip v4.1 or higher). If there is demand for a tcpip v4 compatible version, I'll see if I can build it. My Bind 8 configuration file required only minor changes to work with Bind 9 - I had to remove 'deallocate-on-exit' option, and remove 'category load { xfer-log; };' Note that errors in the log similar to: 21-Dec-2005 18:49:08.310 none:0: open: /bind9/etc/rndc.key: file not found 21-Dec-2005 18:49:08.310 couldn't add command channel 127.0.0.1#953: file not found 21-Dec-2005 18:49:08.314 no source of entropy found don't seem to affect functionality. Details on rndc.key can be found at http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/ref-guide/s1-bind-rndc.html - it should be possible to specify the location of rndc.key in named.conf and clear this message. Details on the 'source of entropy' message are at http://www.isc.org/sw/bind/FAQ.php It seems possible to work around this one by creating a random key using dnssec-keygen and referencing it in named.conf I'm currently unsure about the "couldn't add command channel 127.0.0.1#953: file not found" problem.
