It allows you to enter Japanese kana by typing romanized text in the edit window. The text can then be copied into another application as needed. Only hiragana and katakana, and ASCII (fullwidth and halfwidth) are supported. Kanji conversion is not available. IMERJ is intended primarily for use on non-Japanese OS/2 systems where no better method for typing Japanese is available. Users of native Japanese versions of OS/2 will probably not find it very useful, as the built-in IME is considerably more sophisticated. IMERJ is available here: http://www.cs-club.org/~alex/programming/os2/#imerj and has been uploaded to Hobbes as well. IMERJ is free software licensed under the GPL.
