Date: Wed, 04 Jan 2012 21:23:23 +0100 From: VOICE News Service Subject: [VOICENWS] SW: TIMESET version 1.10 released on BetaZone ++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++ From: alexDESPAM at DESPAMaltsan.org Version 1.10 of the eComStation Clock Synchronization Utility (TIMESET) is now available on the BetaZone for Software Subscription Services members. Besides some significant cosmetic changes (including a new logo and icon provided by eCoSoft), this version includes some functional enhancements by popular request. Most obviously, there is a new 'Synchronize Now' button which you can use to do an immediate synchronization (using the configured backend). In addition, I've made a number of changes to both the GUI logic and the backend configuration file syntax to improve support for Pieter Bras's popular CLKMGR software. By default, TIMESET still uses Kai Uwe Rommel's DAYTIME client as a backend. The WPI on the BetaZone includes an updated version (version 1.20) with modifications by Steven Levine, Robert Blair, and myself, to both fix various problems and provide some functional improvements. NOTE: if you use the default backend configuration file (program.def) without modifications, you must use this new version of DAYTIME. If you have an older version of daytime.exe which you prefer to continue using, you must edit program.def and (in the uncommented section for DAYTIME) delete the contents of the 'basic' parameter (or simply comment out the entire line). To enable the use of CLKMGR in place of DAYTIME, edit program.def with your favourite text editor. Comment out (by adding a preceding ';' to each line) the entire section for using DAYTIME, and un-comment the section for CLKMGR. The file should be readable enough for this change to be pretty straightforward. Happy New Year!
