Date: Sun, 23 Sep 2012 20:39:00 +0200 From: VOICE News Service Subject: [VOICENWS] Drivers: New USB host controller drivers: usbhcd186.zip ++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++ From: lars.erdmannDESPAM at DESPAMarcor.de I have updated the USB host controller drivers USBUHCD.SYS, USBOHCD.SYS, USBEHCD.SYS, USBD.SYS I have now placed these on hobbes. http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/incoming/usbhcd186.zip They will eventually make it into directory: /pub/os2/system/drivers/misc 1) USBOHCD: fixed http://svn.netlabs.org/usb/ticket/22#. Everyone that uses USBOHCD.SYS and cannot get any devices attached at all should use this fixed version of USBOHCD 2) USBEHCD,USBUHCD,USBOHCD: partly fixed http://svn.netlabs.org/usb/ticket/23# (sudden reboot on shutdown), the remaining problems might be fixed with 3) 3) USBD.SYS: major update, changed to dynamic memory allocation for DeviceInfo structures, this fixes these errors: http://bugs.ecomstation.nl/view.php?id=1400 http://bugs.ecomstation.nl/view.php?id=3010 What it means in practice is that USBD.SYS will no longer trap when you attach devices that return a whole lot of configuration info (some webcams from Logitech being a prominent example). The device might still not be supported but the trap is gone and you can look at device info from USB Dock / USB device manager. A short note (also in readme.txt): DO NOT use XCenter USB widget ! It's badly broken and can do all kinds of bad things to your system, including a trap8 ! File readme.txt contains some REXX code that will recreate the USB memory stick daemon (that came with eComStation 1.2 and that works perfectly well).
