Over the last few weeks I have been able to add (more or less) the same support in IDENTIFYING DISKS to the OS/2 version as already present in the Linux and Windows versions. I would like some feedback to see how that is functioning on different systems. It will show identication strings for USB disks/sticks (and probably for SCSI disks, untested) and it will retrieve similar infoemation for IDE disks when using DANIS506.ADD and for SATA/AHCI disks using OS2AHCI.ADD. To give you an idea, this is the added information as shown with the 'media' command, but the same info is also present in the DESCRIPTION LINE (bottom of screen, in blue) when selecting a disk from a selection list in the menu or a dialog: ++++++++++ MEDIA command on T42 system with 2 IDE disks and one USB stick DFSee OS/2 15.5 : executing: media Command timestamp : Wednesday 2018-12-12 14:35:30 DFSee OS Image filename or id type nr (Unix) device plus optional partitionable media description or identification info from the OS. == ==== == =============================================================================================== 1 Phys 1 /dev/sda ST9160821A 3.ALC 152628 MiB 2 Phys 2 /dev/sdb WDC WD3200BEVE-00A0HT0 11.01A11 305245 MiB 3 Phys 3 /dev/sdc TDKMedia Trans-It Drive PMAP 4 Phys 4 /dev/sdd 5 Phys 5 /dev/sde ++++++++++ ++++++++++ MEDIA command on VirtualBox ArcaOS 5.0 (4 SATA/AHCI disks and two USB sticks) DFSee OS/2 15.5 : Executing: media DFSee OS Image filename or id type nr (Unix) device plus optional partitionable media description or identification info from the OS. == ==== == =============================================================================================== 1 Phys 1 /dev/sda VBOX HARDDISK 2047MB 2 Phys 2 /dev/sdb VBOX HARDDISK 2047MB 3 Phys 3 /dev/sdc VBOX HARDDISK 2047MB 4 Phys 4 /dev/sdd VBOX HARDDISK 3761MB 5 Phys 5 /dev/sde General USB Flash Disk 1100 6 Phys 6 /dev/sdf TDKMedia Trans-It Drive PMAP ++++++++++ What I would like is some logfiles showing the results of: log mydisks media cmd type OS2AHCI$ cmd type IBMS506$ log Then attach the 'mydisks.log' to your reply. The last two specially important when the displayed list by 'media' does not look good to you ... Please also add a brief description of your system, OS version, how many disks and type of disk (SCSI, IDE, SATA/AHCI or USB) The above functionality is available in the latest EXPERIMENTAL version: https://www.dfsee dot com/download/index.php Thanks in advance!
