Here is some more information about WinDriver. This email I received
from Arie Tal at KRFtech:

  "Thank you for your interest in WinDriver.

  The OS/2 version of WinDriver will be ready in a short while
  (probably two weeks). This will still be a beta version but it will
  be the last one before release.

  If you need your driver to run on both OS/2 and 9x, WinDriver will
  be your best solution as you will be able to run the same hardware
  access code in both operating systems (just use the appropriate
  kernel module and recompile).

  In regard to pricing - The Windows 9x version is only $899 while
  the OS/2 support has not been officially priced (I estimate its
  price will be around $5k-$6k).

  If you are an academic institute - and you need WinDriver for non
  commercial uses, You may enjoy a 50%(!) discount with one
  restriction - a pop up message will appear at each first use of
  WinDriver saying that it is a non distributable academic version.

  The license will also allow your students to use WinDriver for
  their projects thus concentrate in their applications and hardware
  instead of wasting time learning the OS internals and API (DDK) to
  write a driver.

Maybe the OS/2 pricing causes some headaches.

WinDriver is an aplication to build device drivers. WinDriver is
available (soon) for OS/2, Microsoft Windows, Solaris, and Linux.

Ask for the beta, so KRFtech can be sure that there is demand for the
OS/2 version.
