Rexx is a well-known highly regarded programming language. OS/2 users have a keen interest in Rexx and OS/2 programs often allow for the execution of Rexx add-ons or extensions. Mike Cowlishaw, the creator of Rexx, will speak at a joint session on Friday May 26. Cowlishaw's presentation is open to guests of either conference. "The Rexx Symposium runs Wednesday to Friday, and WarpTech runs Friday to Sunday" says Chip Davis, President of The Rexx Language Association which is hosting The Rexx Symposium. "Rexx users are interested in OS/2, and OS/2 users are interested in Rexx." The ANSI Standard Committee for Rexx will meet in conjunction with The Rexx Symposium. "We chose the same week and the same resort hotel so that one plane fare and one hotel booking will let you attend both" adds Bill Schindler of the WarpTech 2000 OS/2 show and co-author of a book on Rexx. "And Friday is a complimentary day for guests - if you've registered for one conference you can attend Friday sessions at the other."
